In order to keep prayer concerns current, all submitted prayer concerns will be dated and posted for 2 weeks unless:

1. the person who submitted the concern updates the concern or requests its removal; or

2. the person who submitted the concern requests during those two weeks that the time be extended another two weeks.

  • We have received word of the Tuesday, January 26, 2010 death of the Reverend Kenneth G. Fansler (retired) in Pawleys Island, South Carolina.  He is survived by two sons, Robert (Kathie) of Winston-Salem, James (Donna) of Marshall, VA; daughter, Susan Russell (Russ) of Winston-Salem; twelve grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

  • We have received word of the Monday, February 1, 2010 death of the Rev. Dr. Billy M. Whiteside at Shawnee Mission Medical Center, Shawnee Mission, Kansas. He is survived by his wife, Bernice; two sons, Bill (Linda) of Lenexa, KS and Barry (Janice) of Irmo, SC; and three grandchildren. 

  • We have been notified of the Thursday, February 4, 2010 death of the Reverend Ralph A. Shipp (retired). 
  • We have received word of the Tuesday, February 16, 2010 death of the Reverend Claude L. Campbell, Jr. (retired).  He is survived by his wife, Jean; and two children, Mark Campbell and Jeanne Hyland.  The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 18 at McLean’s Funeral Home, Gastonia.

  • We have received word of the Tuesday, February 16, 2010 death of Mrs. Helen Gordon Phillips in Asheville.  She was the widow of the Reverend Albert F. Gordon and Mr. Walter Phillips.  She is survived by two daughters, Mary Gordon and Tricia Gordon; and one son, Frank Gordon and his wife, Rev. Mary B. Gordon. 

  • Please pray for Warren Miller, who will have surgery on his foot at Baptist in Winston-Salem on Wednesday, February 10.  Warren will be recovering at home for at least three weeks.

  • Please pray for Bonnie Hillyer, who will have out-patient surgery at Presbyterian in Matthews on Wednesday, February 10.
  • Our prayers are also with Charlotte Cranfield, who recently suffered a hemorrhagic stroke, which has affected her eyesight and taste.  Charlotte will consult a vascular specialist in Charlotte on February 18.

  • Julie O’Neal asks for prayers for her brother Grady Elliott, who is being treated in Winston-Salem for a cerebral-spinal fluid leak.  Initial treatment has not stopped the leak, and Grady is suffering severe headaches.  Grady is married to Kristine and has two daughters.
